‘We Are Family’ is not Copy

Bollywood Director Siddharth Malhotra, talking about his latest upcoming flick, We Are Family, says that though they have purchased the official rights of Hollywood movie Stepmom, the film is an adaptation and not a remake.

The story is about Maya( Kajol) who is the perfect mother. Her life revolves around her three childeren, Aleya ( Aachal Munjal ), Ankush ( Nominath Ginsberg ), and Anjali ( Diya Sonecha ). Despite being divorced from her husband, Aman ( Arjun Rampal ), Maya ensures that everything runs smoothly in her house, under her watch, and that they continue to remain a happy family. However, when Aman introduces his girlfriend, Shreya ( Kareena Kapoor ), a career oriented woman, to the family, the entire situation takes an unexpected turn. There is then an incident which changes their lives drastically, bringing the two women under the same roof. Hence, the tagline, Can two mothers make a home?
