‘My loneliness is killing me’, sang Britney Spears in her hit number “Hit me baby one more time”. Surprisingly, Katrina Kaif is facing it literally in busy Mumbai. She is feeling so lonely in spite of the presence on her boyfriend Salman Khan in the city, and it’s taking its toll on her health.

 

Buzz up!Katrina revealed that she is beginning to miss her family more and more. Her mother Sussane Turquotte can’t live with her in Mumbai, as she is committed to a cause in Nilangarai, Tamil Nadu. Her younger sister Isabelle is in New York studying acting and the rest of her family are not in the mood to leave England. So, she is left all alone in Mumbai, working day in and day out to fulfill her dream.

 

She admitted that she doesn’t know what to do all alone at home and doesn’t bother about her food. She has even lost a few kilos of late due to eating disorder. “I keep wondering if it is the heat that has caused this loss of appetite. Honestly, I don’t know. Something is bothering me and I can’t pin-point what it is. But I just feel that if my family was around, I would enjoy a normal home life. It’s nice to have people at the dinner table,’’ Mumbai Mirror quoted her as saying.

 

Well, Katrina may be making big bucks in Bollywood but she should know that health is wealth. May be it is a call to settle down and start a family of her own. What say Katrina?

A.R. Rahman chooses New Singers for ‘Raavan’ Tamil Version

Finally, the listing of audio tracks for ‘Raavan’ Tamil version has been officially released by Sony Music. The title song ‘Veera’ (’Beera’ in Hindi) has been crooned by the same singer Vijay Prakash of ‘Hosanna’ fame along with Keerthi Sagathia. The Additional African vocals are rendered by Mustafa Kutoon. Karthik’s ‘Usure Pogudhey’ is expected to be the Tamil version of ‘Behene De’ and A.R. Rahman has picked Shreya Ghosal for ‘Kalvare’ (Rekha Bharadwaj’s ‘Kili Re’).

 

The other tracks are – ‘Kodu Poatta’ (Benny Dayal), Keda Kari (Benny Dayal, Bhagyaraj, Rayhanah and Grammy winner Tanvi Shah) and Kaattu Sirukki (Shankar Mahadevan, Anuradha Sriram). Vairamuthu has penned lyrics for all the songs and the stunning response for the Hindi version has already raised everyone’s expectations in Tamil Nadu and Hyderabad. As per recent media reports, Bebo’s character is a negative one with altogether five different looks. Yes, she plays a Pakistan-based CIA agent and will use prosthetics for her various looks. Designer Aki Narula, who has worked with her in most of her stylish films like Tashan and Kambakkht Ishq, has been roped in to design her wardrobe for the flick, which is going to be a slick action thriller.

We hear that director Anurag Basu has approached Deepika to play one of the two female leads opposite Ranbir in his next film ‘Khamoshi’ (Silence). Earlier, the director had approached Katrina Kaif but she had turned down the offer for the reasons that remain unclear.

Barbara Mori who quietly arrived in Mumbai on Monday morning left on Tuesday morning with Hrithik Roshan to shoot an ad campaign for Provogue. The Roshans wish to keep her visit to a city that the Mexican actress now knows so well, as low-key as possible until she returns from the Maldives on 22 April for a series of press interactions in Mumbai.

 

Buzz up!Hrithik wrapped up the final few days of his shooting with Sanjay Leela Bhansali for Guzaarish before Barbara’s arrival. Both Hrithik and his wife Sussanne gladly played Barbara’s host on her arrival on Monday.

 

Speaking on her current visit to India, Rakesh Roshan said, “We don’t want to create any unnecessary hype about her presence. But we do want to make it clear that we didn’t sign Barbara for Kites because we needed any Caucasian girl. Barbara is not just a pretty girl. She is an amazing actress. You have to see her in Cosas Insignificantes where she had shaved off her hair. She is an outstanding dramatic actress.”

 

Barbara spent Monday in Mumbai with the Roshans and left early on Tuesday morning for the Maldives, prepared to return to Mumbai to a barrage of questions on her friendship with Hrithik which, apparently she is ready to tackle. She leaves Mumbai on 2 May and will join Hrithik for the US premieres of Kites in the US.

We hear that the actress turned up with her luggage at Mumbai’s airport on Thursday. She was shocked to hear that the flights were getting cancelled because it’s not safe to fly planes in the air polluted with volcanic ash. Still, Kat hoped against hope. She waited at the airport hoping for the flights to resume. But that was not to be.

 

At last a dejected Katrina returned home. But till Saturday she kept trying to find a way to travel to London.

Salman Khan too old to play youngster, what about Aamir Khan??

Salman Khan, the handsome hunk of bollywood who is in his mid- forties, has refused to star as an youngster.


In Abhishek Dogra’s film after patiently listening to the script for almost ninety minutes at his pad in Bandra.

However, Sallubhai did not discourage the young filmmaker, who is Ahmed Khan’s assistant, and suggested some changes in his script.

Which was readily agreed to. Salman Khan, who has one of the fittest physiques in the tinsel town, felt.

That the role did not suit his age and personality. And hence the filmmaker should excuse him. But, insiders reveal another story about the whole rejection of the script.They point out that the film had three main heroes in it and Salman Khan would have to share screen space with three other heroes and this was not to the liking of Salman Khan, and he opted out of the project. Though Salman Khan may have reservation about playing a college kid or other young role but bollywood’s perfectionist Khan, Aamir Khan, does not have any reservation.

In fact, Aamir Khan had essayed the character of a college kid in ‘Rang De Basanti’. Even Amitabh Bachchan played the part of a school kid ‘Auro’ in his critically acclaimed flick ‘Paa’.Though Salman Khan rejected the proposal on the basis of age but even brawny Khan never objects to be parried opposite heroines half of his age. The latest example of this is Salman Khan starrer ‘Dabanng’, wherein the brawny star has been paired opposite Sonakshi Sinha, who is even less than half of his age.

Bipasha Basu turns Hindi teacher

Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu has now taken up the job of a tutor and the lucky student is her south co-star Rana Daggubati.


No this not any role that she is playing in any of her forthcoming movie but on the sets of Rohan Sippy's Dum Maro Dum she was found helping Rana with his Hindi who is poor in the language.

According to a source from the sets, "As he is not well-versed with the language, the actress is taking all the hard work to have him good control over.

The language, which will only help to mouth his dialogues well. Though Bipasha herself is not that easy with.The language but trying her bit to help Rana Daggubati." The actress also not seriously adds that now if he asks her any word.

In Hindi she'll charge a fee but who cares about the fees when it's learning practice with Bipasha.

Ranbir calls Kat bhabhi!

Ranbir Kapoor would secretly tease Katrina Kaif and call her Bhabhiji while shooting for Prakash Jha’s Raajneeti in Bhopal.


Actually, Katrina plays Ranbir’s sister-in-law and Arjun Rampal’s widow in Raajneeti.Far from their romantic role in Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani.

Shahid Kapur PAATHSHAALA gets 41% at multiplex, PHOONK poor!!

Shahid Kapur, Ayesha Takia, Nana Patekar starrer flick ‘Paathshaala’, which opened this Friday at theatres across the country, has received.


A decent 41% opening response from the audiences at multiplexes, but Ram Gopal Varma’s latest sequel ‘Phoonk2’ failed to manage even an average occupancy rate on its first day.

The reports from theatres suggest that Shahid Kapur’s own reputation and charm was mainly responsible for the audiences of.

The multiplexes to come to theatres on the opening day and it would be interesting to see if the same response continues on Saturday and Sunday.

Even on Friday at some theatres, the response to Shahid starrer was below forty percent but overall it managed to cut around forty-one percentage points.


The audiences loved the idea of ‘Paathshaala’ but could not like its slow and uninspiring treatment by director Milind Ukey.The younger audiences wanted some romantic spark to fly between Shahid Kapur and Ayesha Takia(just like it was between Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor in ‘3 Idiots’, another film on our rotten educational system), which was non-existent in the flick. Even Nana Patekar’s character failed to enthuse the viewers as his character was not author- backed and biting dialogues were missing from the flick.

On the other hand, Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Phoonk 2’ failed in its main motive of scaring the audience. As the film was a sequel to earlier Ramu’s hit flick ‘Phoonk’, the audience was looking for some scary moments but unfortunately this time the maverick filmmaker could not live up to the expectations of the audience.

And hence the response was poor everywhere.The only hope for Shahid Kapur’s ‘Paathshaala’ and Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Phoonk 2’ is the upcoming Saturday and Sunday, when people are in mood of entertainment and throng to theatres. Let’s hope for the best.

Wondering why? Well, Salman is seriously upset with Deepika when he heard that the actress is going round telling everyone that he was after her so that she signs a movie with him.

A close source reveals, “When he heard the news, Bhai was furious and wanted to know the source of the story but Deepika denied that she spoke to anyone.”

Shahrukh to work with Vinod Chopra

Both of them are best in their respective fields. Both of them have contributed a lot to the film industry. Now, both of them are finally coming together for the forthcoming “Ferrari Ki Sawaari”.

Talking about filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra and actor Shahrukh Khan, the former had  offered the actor roles in many of his previous films like `Kareeb`, `1942-A Love Story`, `Munnabhai MBBS` and even `3 Idiots`, but it did not work out owing to the differences between the two.

 

However, the differences seem to be fading away now and the two are very friendly with each other. This can be understood with the fact that the superstar has finally given a nod to Vidhu’s “Ferrari Ki Sawaari.” The film revolves around the story of how an Indian cricket legend’s Ferrari makes a young boy’s dream of playing cricket at Lord’s come true.

Sushmita Sen-Wasim Akram spotted together at many parties!

The amazing vibes between the two was for all to see when they together judged the reality show Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena two years back. Since then the duo has been linked together but the rumours of their thick friendship and a possible romance caught wind again only after Akram emerged out of his bereavement for his deceased wife Huma who passed away in October last year.

 

Of late, the duo has been spotted together at many parties and now the latest we hear is that Sush and Wasim were seen spending quality time at a nightspot in Mumbai earlier this week. They walked in together a little before midnight, holding hands, and took a sea-facing table. They chatted amicably and animatedly and were later joined by Sush’s friends.

 

Sush again seemed in a breezy mood, not caring a hoot for the onlookers. She and Wasim stayed together till quarter to 2am and walked out only when the nightspot was about to close.

 

Whether the bonding between the two is just restricted to friendship or spiralling into love is hard to say, but one thing is for sure - there’s no enmity in this Indo-Pak story.

Bollywood actress Vidya Balan, who recently won the Filmfare Best Actress award for her performance in Paa as Amitabh Bachchan's mother, is in for a change. She has been approached to play the role of South Indian sex bomb Silk Smitha.

 

Buzz up!The news is doing the rounds that Ekta Kapoor is making a biopic on Silk Smitha titled The Dirty Picture. The film will focus on the tragic last days of the actress, who entertained the people with her sexy moves. It is reported that Vidya has been approached to play Smitha in the film.

 

Ekta Kapoor said that she waited for almost two years for writer Rajat Arora to complete the script of the film. It is about women empowerment and dark side of stardom and Milan Luthria is directing it.

Katrina Kaif wants to get married and to have kids!

At the age of 24, Katrina Kaif has seen success and stardom. And though her focus is singularly on her career, she does hope to get married someday and have kids.

 

 

“One needs to fulfil other roles to be complete as a woman, I think. Eventually, I hope to settle down and I want to have a family, and have kids, so there are many aspects that I have yet to achieve,” Katrina recently said in an interview.

 

However, the actress did make it clear that marriage isn’t going to happen soon. She has many milestones to reach as an actress and she hopes to set one with her upcoming film Raajneeti in which she’s cast in a performance oriented role.

 

The movie has Katrina speaking long dialogues in shuddh Hindi. Though it was a challenge, Katrina said she was confident to take it.

 

“I knew, and I know, and I believe, I have the capacity to deliver the dialogues properly,” she is quoted to have said.

 

In the interview, Katrina also revealed that she prays a lot to God and that her prayers have been answered.

Raavan hit the theatres on June 18!

The wait seems to be over now; we are talking about the big budget Tamil-Hindi bilingual Raavan, which the veteran director is currently busy with, and which is expected to grace theatres on June 18, 2010.

The Hindi version is likely to be premiered at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in France on May 14. Mani Ratnam will be at the screening accompanied by the lead cast of the film, Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek Bachchan and Vikram.

 

Raavan, said to be the modern adaptation of the epic Ramayana, revolves around Raavana, the ruler of Lanka, who kidnapped Sita. The story culminates with Sita supporting Raavana instead of Rama, who suspects her chastity after having spent so much time in Raavana’s custody. Vikram plays the villain. Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai are the lead pair in Hindi, while Vikram will play the lead opposite Aishwarya in Tamil. Music is by Oscar winner A.R. Rahman. Raavana is produced by Mani Ratnam's sister Sharda under Ratnam's banner Madras Talkies.
