Kareena Kapoor signed for Golmaal 3

Director Rohit Shetty has signed on Kareena Kapoor for Golmaal 3. She is going to be the only heroine in the film as Kareena has made it very clear that she does not want to work in multiple heroine projects. So, she will be one of the leads along with the five guys– Ajay Devgn, Tusshar Kapoor, Sharman Joshi, Arshad Warsi and Shreyas Talpade.

And this time, she will not play the romantic interest of any of the guys. Golmaal 3 also promises to be a family entertainer and won’t have any of the boys’ jokes that the earlier films did. The film is expected to start rolling in April 2010.

If things turn out as expected and if director Ahmed Khan comes up with an interesting script, there’s a thick chance that we might see Shahid Kapoor romancing Katrina Kaif or Deepika Padukone in Khan’s next film. Ahmed, who is a good friend of Shahid and has directed him in the upcoming film Paathshala, admits he’s writing a script for a movie that will doubtlessly have his favourite Shahid Kapoor as the male lead.

Priyanka Chopra finalised for Tees Maar Khan?

Farah Khan has been on the lookout for the female lead of her new film “Tees Maar Khan”.
The idea was to sign a new girl, but in case one was not found, Farah was willing to take an established actress.
If reports are to be believed, Farah has now managed a casting coup of sorts. She has finalised Priyanka Chopra to play the lead opposite Akshay Kumar.
So, the once hot couple who gave many hits like “Andaaz”, “Aitraaz” and “Mujhse Sahaadi Karogi”, will once again scorch the screen in “Tees Maar Khan”.
Though many filmmakers have wanted to sign them, it is Farah who took the initiative to get the couple together.
Who had decided not to work with each other following reports of their romance several years ago.
Their link-up had upset Akki’s wife Twinkle and he’s said to have promised her never to work with Priyanka.
Recently, however, there were reports of Akshay and Priyanka breaking the ice and having a conversation while rehearsing for a stage performance.
Probably encouraged by this thaw in their cold war, Farah asked Akshay if he had any reservations about working with Priyanka, and he said that he would love to work with her.
However, Farah has not given any confirmation about this pairing and said that she will announce the female lead by mid-January.

A source at the event reveals, “Anjana and Gauhar were supposed to make an entry together for the opening.
But a few hours before the show, Gauhar spoke to the organisers and the choreographer and demanded that she make a solo entry.
Just a few minutes before the show, Anjana was informed about the change and so she made her entry after Gauhar’s act.”
Anjana claims ignorance, which can always be construed as bliss. She says, “I am not aware of this.
I did what I was told to do. The organisers wanted a joint entry and we were following the choreographer.” However, Gauhar says she had her reasons for putting her foot down. She says, “There were some last minute changes in the act and I wasn’t informed, which was quite unprofessional on their part. I kept my commitment and finished the show.”

3 idiots Movie Review - 3rd Review

Farhan (Madhavan) and Raju (Sharman), 10 years after they have finished their engineering from India’s most prestigious engineering college find a clue to finally find their lost friend from college. Rannchoddas Shamaldas Chanchad aka Rancho (Aamir) their ex-room mate in the college hostel had silently disappeared on the graduation day leaving behind no clue of where he had left for. Rancho was the life of the college and with his unique wit had back then even managed to rattle the strict head of the college, Viru Sahastrabuddhe (Boman) but at the same time managed to win the heart of his daughter Pia (Kareena). Before leaving, Rancho had brought a major change in almost every person’s life he had come closer to. Starting their journey from Delhi and going to Shimla, Manali and finally ending up in Ladakh, what surprise is in store for Farhan and Raju when they finally manage to meet Rancho forms the climax of the film.After two back to back landmark films of Hindi cinema Munnabhai MBBS and Lage Raho Munnabhai, expectations from Rajkumar Hirani’s 3 idiots had been very high. Added to that, was the combination of producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Hirani and Aamir Khan coming together for the first time. So if you wondering whether the film manages to live up to the expectations then yes it does. Aal is well in here! Along with his co-scriptwriter Abhijat Joshi, Hirani packs in many subtle messages through his narrative and successfully drives home the point that when it comes to planning for one’s future, one must follow his heart and do what our hearts tell us rather than what our parents expect us to do. There are plenty of sequences that stay in your heart long after the film is over. Be it the unexpected suicide of a pressurized student, Aamir’s entry scene, the dinner situation at Sharman’s house, Sharman’s job interview, Madhavan convincing his parents to allow him to chose his choice of work and of course the laughathon caused by interchanging of words Chamatkar to Balaatkar by Aamir of an unsuspecting student. However, the child delivery sequence in the pre climax has been unnecessarily over stretched.The film is a must watch for every Aamir fan. Just check the way he successfully carries out the role of a 22 year old despite being 44 years older.

Deepika Padukone's plan of funding underprivileged sportsmen dashed

Deepika Padukone's plan of funding underprivileged and needy sportsmen has been dashed momentarily.
The actor had to put this philanthropic initiative on the backburner as she is overworked and has five back-to-back releases next year.
However, she promises that she would revive the project in 2011.A source says, "Deepika has been very busy of late. She has got a lot of work lined up next year too.
That wouldn't give her any time to concentrate on this project. So she has decided to pull the plug for the time being."
As this project is Deepika's brainchild, she is very protective about how it should begin.
The source adds, "She is not doing this to garner attention. She has a sporting person's soul in her and having seen the plight of needy sportsmen from close quarters, she thought of helping them out.
Deepika wants to sustain the project and fund it if possible throughout her lifetime. She has been silently scouting, observing and researching about good talents from across India for a long time."
Confirming the development, Deepika says, "Though the project is on the backburner now, the research work will be on as we are looking to start it from 2011. Next year is a very busy one for me. So I don't want to start this project just for the sake of doing it. I don't enter into things to come out of it easily and so I will take time to roll out this project. But when it starts, it won't stop."

Wincing In Pain Katrina Kaif Leaves For Family Vacation In London

The healing process after her surgery last week is yet not even half-complete. But Katrina Kaif, recovering quietly from surgery at her Mumbai home, stubbornly decided to go and join her family in London for the annual Christmas-New Year vacation, which she had promised herself for months now. Katrina flew out of Mumbai early Wednesday morning after getting a reluctant go-ahead from her doctors at Breach Candy hospital. Wincing in pain she said a few hours before departure, “The pain will remain for a while. But the process of healing is on. I got my doctor’s consent in Mumbai and I’ve another doctor in London who’s fully aware of my condition. The doctors said the pain would be the same in Mumbai or London. And as long as I’m very careful about not exerting myself I’ll be fine. So I’m off.”

Katrina had gone into a depression earlier during the week when she felt she wouldn’t be able to join her sisters and brother in London because of her medical condition. On Tuesday after visiting the doctors Katrina and her mother took a decision. Said Katrina, “I can’t exert myself, can’t dance around or be boisterous. But that’s okay. Because our family is in any case not the dancing type. I just want to be with my sister’s little boy take him to the toy stores in London and buy him everything he wants.”Katrina returns to Mumbai in the first week of January, hopefully fully healed. “Luckily I’ve a doctor in London who knows how to look after me. So basically I’m just moving into a happier state of mind by being close to the people I love. That would help me heal quicker. Wish me luck.”

While unofficial sources claim it's a whopping amount (almost two crore for 15 minutes) Bipasha herself remains tight-lipped about it. Katrina Kaif, Now Most Popular Actress in bollywood who was recently operated for Endometrioma at Breach Candy hospital, has returned to her residence and recovering fast. The doctors have advised her to take complete rest for some days and she is likely to extend it to her Christmas holidays. Sources from the hospital say that it was a one hour surgery performed on Katrina Kaif for some uterus related problem known in medical terminology as ‘Endometrioma’.

The condition is caused by endometrial tissue, which somehow becomes transplanted and grows inside the ovaries instead of its actual position. Salman Khan, who is Katrina Kaif’s boyfriend, and his mother Salma were present during the operation. Though the disease is not serious but it may recur despite of being operated and cured. In fact, this condition generally appears in women who are in their productive age group (meaning 20 years to 40 years of age).

Riya Sen in 'Sri Adi Manav'

Bringing in Bollywood faces on TV soaps is the tried and tested formula producers resort to, in a bid to rake in the TRPs and now we hear Paritosh Painter has brought in “good friend” Riya Sen to lend some glamour to 'Sri Adi Manav'. Sen will play herself on the show. A source informs, "Riya will play herself in the show. Shri, Adi and Manav are die-hard fans of Riya, who is a popular Bollywood celebrity and the whole episode is about winning a dinner date with her. The three boys attempt a quiz which gives the winner a chance of dining with Riya.

Sri wins the quiz and is all set to go on the date when the organisers tell him he can take a friend or a family member along. He is in a tizzy now, as Adi and Manav too are crazy about her. He later decides to sacrifice the dinner for his two best friends and asks them to avail of the opportunity. But they wouldn't go without Sri, who is the real winner. The trio refuses to go and news reaches Riya, she is left aghast. She decides to meet them to figure out the reason behind refusing to dine with her. When she comes to know of the real reason, she requests the organisers to let the entire family from here on of the winner come along with him."Paritosh, who produces the show, confirmed Riya's presence on the show. We texted Riya Sen but she didn't revert.

Amrita Rao kicks Rani out of her home

Recently Amrita hired the services of a new maid, Rani who apparently was a crazy fan. Amrita already has two maids, a spot boy, a personal assistant and a driver at her ready disposal but hired the services of an additional maid for her mother who requires help frequently with the household work as the other employees are busy tending to Amrita's needs.

This maid apparently was an avid follower of hers from Rajasthan who had come via the reference of a neighboring building's resident. She used to intently watch each and every move of Amrita's whilst she was at home which caused a lot of unrest to Amrita as her mother's needs seemed to be sidelined. Infact once Amrita's family member caught her looking into Amrita's personal wardrobe and trying on few of her garments when no one was at home. At one instance Amrita who really loses her cool was seen getting angry but her heart melted when the maid began crying and stating how poor she was.
However things did not improve as the maid used to tag along everywhere with Amrita and started being haphazard in her daily chores and watched movies of Amrita's day in and day out. Since Amrita and her family prefer to stay away from controversies, they simply retired her from her services without any prior intimation to her and never spoke about the incident to anyone. Apparently no one has seen or heard of the maid ever since.
Amrita Rao's spokesperson, Jashoda Madhavji confirms the story and states, "Amrita was pretty wary to hire anyone new as she doesn't like to experiment with untested waters but being a family girl her mother's needs came first and hence she willingly agreed. At the same time she is one person who is quick to learn from her experiences and will be on the lookout for a new maid soon!"

When asked about the remuneration, Bips says, "All I will say its great money and they have offered me the same deal that I got two years ago with another hotel. She adds, "I might even do some songs from the '70s."When asked if it was a come down from the hotel she performed at two years ago, she asks, "I can't keep performing at the same hotel every year. It's a 5-star hotel, credible, they pay me good money and there are nice people associated with it. Apart from that, John and his family and our friends will also come for the event and we will have our own party there. The hotel has agreed to host our party too.

Shilpa Shetty enjoying her honeymoon

Shilpa Shetty has been walking on air ever since she tied the knot with the man of her dreams, Raj Kundra. After a rather extended honeymoon in the Bahamas, the newly weds have returned to London and now packing up again to leave for a cruise through the Mediterranean. This time, however, their families will be joining them.

 

The actress likens her honeymoon to a dream. “Back to reality, the last couple of weeks felt like a dream -- from the sunny Bahamas back in London for the last couple of days... There's no place like London when it comes to celebrating Christmas,” Shilpa wrote on her blog.

 

However, Shilpa and Raj won’t be in London on New Year’s Eve. The couple, along with their families, will ring in 2010 on a ship.

 

“Really excited about the Mediterranean cruise we are taking with the family, my first ever, making it even more special. I will be out at sea for the next two weeks... Will be bringing in New Year on the ship,” she added.

 

Guess Shilpa was right when she recently said that she’s going through the best phase of her life after marriage with Raj.

Rakhi Sawant ready for another ‘Swayamvar’

Rakhi Sawant is desperate and, given a chance, she can have another swayamvar. The lady recently revealed this to a daily.

 

Love or marriage, the lady is hopeful to get her man of dreams after she dumped Elesh Parujanwala, whom she selected from her swayamvar. He is not the kind with whom she would love to spend her life. “Elesh was not honest. He was bankrupt and loved going to nightclubs. He told me all this after our engagement. I am not the type to accept it,” Rakhi is quoted as saying.

 

In fact, according to Rakhi, Elesh’s family never considered her as a bahu and they never bothered to call her during the days she was seeing Elesh, nor did they give her “shagun”.

 

In fact, she is happy with her decision to break up with Elesh. According to her, “Wahan pe saare kangle the (All of them were broke there).”

 

So after all this, Rakhi has made her mind. “If I get another chance I will have another swayamvar.” And this time it will be her family who will help her to take the ‘right decision’.

Saif will soon marry his girlfriend Kareena Kapoor!

Whoa! Here’s the tiny little scoop their fans have been waiting for. If Sharmila Tagore’s recent comment is to go by, her son Saif Ali Khan will soon marry his girlfriend Kareena Kapoor.

 

 

Saif’s parents have already given their stamp of approval to the relationship and are now only eager to see the two wedded.

While attending a meeting of Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC) on Sunday, Sharmila Tagore reportedly said: “I don’t have any objection to Saif and Kareena getting married and they will get married soon.”

She even went on to say that the couple has her blessings.

Earlier, Saif also had said that he will indeed marry Kareena “at some point” without really disclosing how soon his visit to the altar be. Kareena, on the other hand, wants to bide her time and focus on her career for a few more years before settling down.

Let’s see if Kareena will become Mrs. Khan in 2010!

Ranbir Kapoor met Deepika Padukone

Ranbir Kapoor met Deepika Padukone. Are they still in love? As per a tabloid, Ranbir and Deepika were spotted together on Saturday night at a party.

The ex-couple was at a greet-and-meet bash hosted by a five star hotel at Worli, Mumbai. Reports even reveal that they were cordial at the party and didn’t try to avoid each other. However, this is the first time the couple has been seen together after their alleged break-up in October.

Aishwarya Rai, Vivek Oberoi too close for comfort

People’s paths often cross in a close knit industry like Bollywood. No harm in that as long as two people aren’t ex lovers no longer on talking terms with each other.

Well, Aishwarya Rai has had two encounters with as many ex beaus in a span of few days. On December 17, she found herself face to face with Salman Khan while shooting at a Mumbai studio. Now, on Saturday, she was seated just an arm’s distance away from Vivek Oberoi at a Mumbai police event named ‘Jashn 2010-Dhamaka Bollywood Ka’.

 

Ash was seated in the first row at the function. Shockingly, the organizers had placed Vivek’s seat very close to Ash. There was only one seat between the two. Vivek was obviously hesitant to sit there, but relented after persuasion by the organizers.

 

On top of it, Manish Malhotra, who was supposed to be seated between Ash and Vivek wasn’t on his seat. So when Vivek took his seat, there was an evident discomfort between Ash and him.

 

We hear that Ash even looked at Vivek for a split second. Vivek too turned and looked at her. Both of them were uncomfortable. But the drama didn’t last long. Manish Malhotra, who had perhaps sensed their discomfort, rushed back to his seat. Vivek still wasn’t comfortable, after a few minutes he left his seat.

A R Rahman Desktop 2010 Calendar

A R Rahman Foundation plans to set up educational institutions and provide world class education to the underprivileged children. To raise funds, A R Rahman Foundation has released desktop Calendar 2010. This with the pictures, this calendar features number of thoughtful quotes from Rahman on universal themes like music, language and love.

 

This special 2010 calendar is produced by Worldlight, a subsidiary of Audio Media Education.

The A R Rahman Foundation presently provides free music education to 30 students from various corporation schools in Chennai at the K M Music Conservatory (A R Rahman music school in chennai).

Bollywood stars jazz up ‘Lux Sabse Favorite Kaun 2010′ red carpet

The Indian Television Star Gold Lux Sabsey Favourite Kaun Awards is the only Bollywood awards decided by the audience. The red carpet ceremony for ‘Lux Sabse Favorite Kaun 2010’ was jazzed up by the B-Town celebrities with their style and panache. The guest list included the likes of Akshay Kumar, Bipasha Basu, Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Arjun Rampal, Farhan Akhtar, Farah Khan, Arshad Warsi, Dia Mirza, Mugdha Godse, and other television actors.
