Avantika Malik weds Imran Khan

Bollywood actor Imran Khan and his fiancee Avantika Malik are all set to take place today. The duo are going to have a sunset wedding on a beach in Phuket, Thailand.

The wedding will be hush hush kinds with only the families of the couple. Tuesday night will see the two families and their closest friends heading to Phuket for a three-day celebration. But mamu jaan Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao will not be present for the celebrations as they need to complete the pending work on their forthcoming film, Dhobi Ghat, which releases on January 21.

Says a source, “It’s Avantika Malik’s idea and she has done all the bookings and logistic arrangements. While both sides helped put up all the parties, this Khao Lak trip is completely Avantika Malik’s brainchild.”

Designers Shantanu and Nikhil Mehra, who are taking care of the couple’s wedding dress, revealed that they have designed a scarlet gown for the bride, as it would be a sunset wedding.

The Sangeet ceremony held at Avantika’s farmhouse in Karjat on Saturday night saw Imran’s maamu Aamir Khan and his wife Kiran Rao. Aamir’s ex wife Reena also came. Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif too attended the sangeet though they came separately. Boman Irani, Kunal Kapoor, Shahana Goswami, Karan Johar, Minissha Lamba and many other celebrities graced the occasion.

Karan' ll take Imran-Avantika Wedding Stress

Karan Johar has come to the rescue of the soon to be married couple, Imran and Avantika Malik. Less than a week left and Imran Khan is still shooting for his upcoming film Mere Brother Ki Dulhan. On the other hand, the entire stress of the wedding has been dumped on Avantika Malik’s shoulders.

Karan Johar has finally arrived at the scene and has taken the responsibility of designing the wedding dresses of both Imran and Avantika Malik. We hear that designer Manish Malhotra and Varun Bahl, have been given all the specifications instruction about their wedding dresses.

Avantika Malik will don an ashen-orange colour lehenga while Imran will be given a traditional dress for the Mehendi ceremony on January 8 and a western suit for the wedding on January 10. Not just Imran and Avantika, Karan has also designed dresses for Aamir Khan and his son Junaid.

Imran Khan is grateful and deeply touched by all the effort that Karan Johar is making for their wedding.

Imran Khan Wedding Invitation Swipe Cards

Bollywood’s young and Upcoming superstar Imran Khan is all set to tie the knot with his girlfriend Avantika Malik on Monday and is sending out invites in the form of swipe cards to keep gatecrashers out of the venue.

Along with the wedding card to the selected list of invitees, Imran, 27, has attached swipe cards.

“Along with the invitation cards, the guests are also given a swipe card, which is necessary to access the venue,” said a source close to the actor.

The wedding functions are starting Saturday (Jan 8 ) and will be followed by a registered marriage Jan 10. After the marriage the newly-weds, along with their guests, will head to Avantika’s farmhouse in Karjat for celebrations.

As expected, both households are buzzing with activities preceding the marriage.

“There is so much happening at home. Lot of activities – rehearsals for the sangeet functions and preparations for the wedding,” said Kiran Rao, who is Imran’s uncle Aamir Khan’s wife.

When we asked Imran about the same, he instantly replied,
‘It was at a night club in Dubai. The whole thing was taken out of context. I was shaking hands with a lot of people outside. She held my hand and was trying to pull me. I don’t think she was trying to hurt me.’ Sonam cheekily added, ‘She just took the chocolate boy tag too seriously.’

On being asked what his girlfriend, Avantika Malik had to say about the biting episode, Imran quite candidly said, ‘She was very happy. According to her, the more female fans that I have, the more successful I will be.’

Imran Khan’s first film, JAANE TU YA JAANE NA released on 4th July, 2008, and now IHLS is releasing on 2nd July. Does the month July have anything to do behind the stars success???
