On New Year’s Day, M F Husain watched the film with his close pal, Mumbai-based businessman Munna Javeri, who was visiting him in Dubai.
“In the cinema hall I was shocked to seen him remove his glasses,” says Javeri. “He knew all the dialogues and he viewed the film like a painting filled with colors. If only he had a brush in hand “
Speaking from Dubai, M F Husain says, “It’s still running to packed halls in its fourth week. Anushka was okay in the Shah Rukh starer Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, but in Band Baaja Baaraat she has proved what an intelligent actor she is. She knows what subtle acting is all about. We hear that, Shahrukh Khan, after watching The Movie Band Baaja Baaraat was so much in love with the film and the newcomer Ranveer Singh that he couldn’t stop himself from calling the new talent on the block. This is what exactly happened with Bollywood New Comer Actor Ranveer Singh - Band Baajaa Baaraat fame. Ranveer Singh ignored the calls from Shanu Sharma, the casting director of Yash Raj Films for ten long days before he finally answered it and got to know that he was screening for Bittu in the presence of Aditya Chopra the next day.
Do you know why Ranveer Singh didn’t answer his phone in the first place? The first time he received the call, he was out dating after which he was kept busy with his imaginations.
Akshay, Anushka in Patiala House
In the film Patiala House, Akshay plays an aspiring cricketer Parghat Singh Kahlon and Anushka is his ladylove Simran.
In the film you will get to see Akshay as a simple guy who is trying to make his dream of being a cricketer come true. Anushka, true to her image, gets to play a girl-next-door, but not only does she look simple, but also modern. In the movie, Akki runs a shop but wants to play cricket. Though his father, played by Rishi Kapoor, is strictly against his aspirations, he triumphs in the end. The movie is based in London and narrates the story of a traditional Sikh family settled there.
