However, a denial has come from the officials of L’Oreal Paris, “We are shocked and surprised to read in some sections of the media/press about Ms. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan being replaced as the face of L’Oreal Paris,” said an official statement from the firm.

These rumors cropped when Ms Pinto was seen featuring in the L’Oreal Paris New Year 2011′s commercial ad.
“L’Oreal Paris strongly reiterates that this is absolutely untrue and that Ms. Aishwarya Rai continues to be our valued spokesperson, as she has since 2000. While she remains an integral part of the L’Oreal Paris worldwide Dream Team, she was unfortunately unavailable for our New Year commercial shoot due to prior commitments,” the statement added.

The statement also made it clear that since Ash was busy with her prior commitments, she wasn’t able to make it for the shoots of the commercial ad of New Year.

* Raavan

Unfortunately, the above four films (barring Robot) bombed at the BO despite being pitched as the best crowd pullers of the year prior to the release. Robot managed to pick crowds (not for long though) through word of mouth, but the rest of the movies did not even have decent openings.

* Despite all the hardships of shooting in a forest, with no proper food for four days and various other troubles, Raavan fared miserably at the BO.
* The same was the fate of Action Replayy, which when compared to recent Akshay Kumar’s films had a minimal opening and lost the race to Golmaal 3.
* Guzaarish incurred a loss of 40 crore rupees leaving the producers almost bankrupt.

Only respite for her was Endhiran, which becme the highest grossing film ever in Indian Cinema. But it was the director, Shankar and its main lead, Rajnikanth who walked away with all the accolades.

Also rumours about her being pregnant, would not bring any joy to the film makers.

Action Replayy Screenplay on Oscar library

Bollywood Movie Director Vipul Amrutlal Shah latest movie, Action Replayy may have not really set the cash registers ringing at the box office, yet, the director still has a reason to smile.

Well, the screenplay of the movie has been invited by the Library of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences (Oscars) to include it in its huge permanent script collection.
The screenplay, written by Vipul Shah and Aatish Kapadia makes its way in the Margaret Herrick library of the Academy. It will be used for research and study purposes by the students of cinema and filmmakers.

Confirms Vipul, “Yes, they have shown a keen interest in preserving the screenplay of Action Replayy. They send out the invites for those films which they need for research purpose. Even earlier, a copy of screenplay of Namastey London was shared with them when they had expressed their desire for that. I am glad that they feel Action Replayy is worthy enough for students of cinema to read and learn.”

The movie stars Akshay Kumar, Aishwarya Rai and Aditya Roy Kapoor and tells the story of a guy who goes into the past to change the acrimonious wedlock of his parents into a love marriage.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Set Trend in Malaysia

Traditional dresses worn by Bollywood / Hollywood Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the films Raavan and Robot have been runaway hits in Malaysia.

The churidar and long-sleeved kameez Aishwarya wore as a dance teacher who gets kidnapped in the modern-day version of the Ramayana are a hit among women shoppers. Both Tamil (Raavanan) and Hindi versions (Raavan) along with Robot with megastar Rajnikant were huge hits among Malaysian Indians.

The traditional dresses - called masakali - have been in the market since early this year. But sales have peaked as Deepavali approaches.

Malaysia is home to 2.1 million ethnic Indians, a bulk of them Tamils who throng to Chennai-made films. But craze for Bollywood films is there among everybody. The Bachchans – Amitabh, Jaya, Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan – and the Khans, SRK, Aamir, Salman and Saif Ali – are immensely popular there.
Thiyananthan Bathumalai, managing director of Harekrishna Silk, said most of the masakali dresses in the market were inspired by movie stars.

"For example, we now have 'Robot masakali', which was inspired from the movie Robot and 'Raavan masakali', which was inspired by Raavan, of course," he said.

Thiyananthan said many customers ask for masakali suits on entering his shop.

"People still ask for 'Anarkali suits' or 'Patiala suits' which were the craze some time ago. But this year, it looks like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is leading," he said.

Golmaal 3 Rocks over Action Replayy

With ‘Golmaal 3′, director Rohit Shetty completed a successful rib-tickling trilogy, striking the right chord with the audiences and giving tough competition to Vipul Shah’s romantic ‘Action Replayy’ at the box office.

Both the biggies were scheduled for a Diwali release and hit the screens Friday.

‘The content of ‘Golmaal 3′ is very good. People are enjoying it a lot and it has been houseful so far. It is a good time pass and full paisa vasool movie. ‘Action Replayy’ has opened a little weak and is not pikcing up,’ Ashwini Singh, business head of SRS cinema, said.

Satish Garg, owner of G3S Cinemas, said: ”Golmaal 3′ is going very good. We have an occupancy of 100 percent and the advance booking is rocking. ‘Action Replayy’ is okay with close to 40 percent occupancy.”

For ‘Golmaal 3′, Shetty teamed up with Kareena Kapoor, Ajay Devgn, Mithun Chakraborty, Kunal Khemu, Tusshar Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Johny Lever and Ratna Pathak-Shah.

Just like its previous two installments, it is full on entertainment and people are lapping up the laughthon, while Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai-starrer ‘Action Replayy’, in which the story travels to the past, has got a lukewarm response.

”Golmaal 3′ has taken the screens by storm and is doing better at all sites across Delhi. It has 60 percent occupancy, while ‘Action Replayy’ has 30 percent. Both have good advance for Sunday, however, ‘Golmaal 3′ has much more. ‘Action Replayy’ should pick up tomorrow (Saturday) onwards,’ said Jayendra Banerji, vice president Satyam Cinemas.

Yogesh Raizada of Waves Cinemas said: ‘All votes are in favour of ‘Golmaal 3′. It has got a good initial and public swing due to its recall value. It has an occupancy close to 70 percent. It has good advance booking till Sunday and the ratio is 60:40. ‘Action Replayy’ is a new concept and its acceptance is yet to be seen. It has managed to get an occupancy of 40 to 50 percent only.’

Bollywood New Movie Action Replayy Movie Review: Bollywood Actor Akshay Kumar and Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starer “Action Replayy” has hit theatres today. This Rs 40 crore project is produced and directed by Vipul Shah and has been released in more than 1,800 screens in India and abroad.

The film is based on the glorious 70’s where each character dons a retro look. This is for the first time that Akshay Kumar and Ash will team up together as a romantic couple.

The film also has numerous supporting actors such as - Randhir Kapoor, Neha Dhupia, Kirron Kher, Om Puri, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Rannvijay Singh, Sudeepa Singh and Rajpal Yadav to spice up the romantic comedy.

“Action Replayy” has been inspired by Robert Zememkis’ 1985 film, “Back To The Future”. The music of the film has been composed by Pritam.

The film is based on Bunty (Aditya) who is fed up with his parents Kishen (Akshay Kumar) and mother Mala’s (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan) constant bickering. He is of the view that if his parents would have had a love marriage their life would have been better.

Akshay Kumar stated “Action Replayy is wholesome entertainment and has something for everyone. The tone is light but there are moments that will tug at your heart.”

Ash on the other hand stated “I’m so glad that I finally got to work with Vipul and Akshay Kumar… we got to work on a subject where we’ve pushed the envelope in the comedy genre.”

Despite the hype, the film turned out to be an average one. We get to see nothing new in the film. Humor is monotonous and the “tu-tu main-main” between Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is juvenile.

Salman Khan stops Guzaarish Entering Bigg Boss 4

Bollywood Hunk Salman Khan just cannot seem to forget his torrid romance with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Recent rumors suggest that Salman Khan has clearly forbidden Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Hrithik Roshan from coming to the Bigg Boss House to promote their upcoming movie Guzaarish. The producers of Guzaarish played this incident down and said that they will find other avenues to promote the upcoming film. Sanjay Leela Bhansali has a lot of faith in his film and he is sure that the audience will love the film.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan also had her share of revenge when she refused to turn up for a special ‘KBC’ episode because the money will go to Salman Khan’s ‘Being Human’ charity foundation. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was slated to appear n KBC with her Action Replayy co-star Akshay Kumar but she backed down after discovering the ‘Being Human’ connection. We hope that these two superstars bury the hatchet at some point of their lives and start being courteous to one another.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's Tamil love

After doing fourth Tamil film, 'Endhiran', Bollywood Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan claims to be far more comfortable working in the southern language. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan also feels it is the kind of entertainer most leading actresses do though she hasn't done too many of them.

"I am definitely far more comfortable and more confident working in the language. I won't risk breaking into a conversation because I don't do that on a daily basis," Aishwarya Rai Bachchan said.

"Probably because I have traveled so much, I am familiar with the language. It's easy on the ear. I understand it, but I respect the language; so I don't want to break into a conversation in it, unless it's a group which is very forgiving about grammatical errors!"

"You learn dialogues, they are constructed sentences already, but I am far more confident today than I was during 'Iruvar' or 'Jeans'," said Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. She has also done the bilingual 'Raavan'.

Filmmaker S. Shankar made his latest, a sci-fi flick, in two languages - 'Endhiran' in Tamil and 'Robot' in Hindi - and released them simultaneously Oct 1. Made at a whopping budget of Rs.175 crore ($38 million), it's the costliest Indian film ever.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan maintains that her character was easy to essay and she has rarely done films in the typical entertainment genre, unlike many leading heroines.

"The character was not difficult to get into the skin of. It's a kind of role that any leading heroine would do. Probably the kind of roles that a lot of leading heroines do in their career, in my case it has been rare.

"I have not done this kind of character very often in a typical entertaining genre, the kind of character a leading heroine would get.

"He (Shankar) has a made an entertaining film. He has taken entertainment to the next level and has introduced something technically much ahead of what we have seen in recent times. So for me to go on set, it was more exciting to see the film come together. In terms of my contribution, I was just happy to work in this film," said Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

This was her second film with Shankar after 'Jeans' in 1998.

Asked what changes she noticed in Shankar as a director, she said: "I think now I know him better. 'Jeans' so early in my career, unlike any newcomers, I was associated with multiple projects at the very first year of my career.

"I was constantly experiencing a different set ambiance and a different film I was working in. So, that time we were discovering each other. For me films were new, the technical aspect of films was new and I was working in Tamil. From then till today, we know each other much better."

Akshay, Aishwarya Rai on Romantic Drive

Bollywood Actor Akshay Kumar and Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will be going on a romantic drive as a part of their promotional stunt for ‘Action Replayy’. Akshay Kumar will be driving an Impala, and the two of them will be interacting with their fans and educating them on the art of wooing a girl while on a drive.

Akshay Kumar has been seen in a retro avatar. The idea for the drive was given by Akshay, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and producer Vipul Shah as they felt that this would be the most appealing thing to the audiences.

While speaking to the media, Vipul said “We felt that the charm of retro can’t be conveyed convincingly in mere words or visuals. It would make a bigger impact if we show it to the people.”

Vipul added “In our film, I also used an open convertible Dodge Impala in bright red. So we just might bring it back as its colour will add significantly to the overall impact of Akshay and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s drive,”.

Speaking about Aishwarya, Vipul said, “I think this entire ‘Diva’ thing attached to Ash is just a media perceived image. She is very simple and down to earth”
